The winners of this year’s “Biggest Tomato Contest” were Tom Orr and Abel Britton.  The contest was very close this year, with less than an ounce separating the adult and youth winners.  Tom Orr’s “Big Zac” tomato weighed in at 2lbs. 7.7oz., while Abel Britton’s “Floyd Millsaps” weighed in at 2lbs. 7oz.

Both Tom and Abel received $125 gift cards made possible by Phillips 76 of Robbinsville and N.C. Cooperative Extension of Graham County.  In addition, Abel Britton wanted to make sure to thank his mentor, Casey Nichols, and said he planned to buy toys with his winnings.
