Over 50 people braved the cold to see who would come out on top at this year’s Giant Pumpkin Contest in Graham County.

Four adults and five youth competed in this year’s contest; and they were: Raymond Norton, Rebecca Powell, Nikki Stewart, Charles Powell, Kenlyn Powell, Lawrence Powell, Daxton Crisp, Maysa McGuire, and Mykayla McGuire.

While the pumpkins were the biggest that had been grown, it was Charles Powell and Kenlyn Powell who came out on top in the adult and youth divisions respectively. Second and third place in the adult division went to Raymond Norton and Rebecca Powell; with second and third place in the youth division going to Lawrence Powell and Daxton Crisp.

The weights of the winning pumpkins were as follows:

First Place – $200

Charles Powell – 585

Kenlyn Powell – 580

Second Place – $100

Lawrence Powell – 362

Third Place – $50

Rebecca Powell – 245
