Congratulations to Kitty and Abel Britton, this year’s winners of the Graham County Tomato Contest!

Kitty narrowly won the adult division with her tomato weighing 2 lbs. 9 0z., with Sherry Williams coming in second place at 2 lbs. 8.8 oz.  A close race for sure!  Abel’s 2lb. 4.4 oz. tomato easily won the youth division.  Both Kitty and Abel will receive a $100 gift card as the top prize.

We would also like to recognize and thank all other participants in this year’s contest:  Raymond Norton, Eddie Colvin, Sherry Williams, and Robert Britton.

The Graham County Tomato contest is held each year, with tomatoes weighed during the entire month of August.  Any Graham County resident is welcome to participate.  Please contact the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Graham County Center for more details.
