Robbinsville resident Alan Wamsley recently took top honors for his award winning honey at the Swain County Fair, held August 20^th.  A beekeeper for only a few years, Alan received both first place and “Best In Show” for his sourwood honey.  He also received first place in the medium dark wildflower honey category and second place for the extra dark wildflower honey.

Alan is the owner/operator of The Simple Life Campground located  on Lower Mountain Creek Road.  Be sure to stop by and sample or purchase some honey while supplies last!  He is also known for some pretty awesome apple butter as well!  Congratulations Alan!
