Ways to Participate…

Workshops/Events

Graham County 4-H strives to be an integral part of the community. Some workshops/events are specific to 4-H members/volunteers, while others are open to all youth in Graham County. Check out 4-H News/Events for specific information & opportunities to attend a workshop or event.

4-H Clubs/Groups

Each 4-H Club designs their own meeting schedule.

4-H Groups meet once a month to engage in age-appropriate, fun, hands-on educational activities. Groups meet after-school from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at N.C. Cooperative Extension – Graham County Center.

Current 4-H Clubs/Groups

  • 4-H Spurs & Burrs Horse Club Ages 5-18
    • No horse, no problem! Horse ownership is not required to participate. Youth can complete a horse project, build equine knowledge, or compete on horse bowl team. For youth interested in learning about horses/riding.

  • 4-H Cloverbuds (*meets 2nd Monday each month) 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • 4-H Musketeers (*meets 3rd Monday each month) 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • 4-H Teens (*meets 4th Monday each month) 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

*These 4-H groups run on Graham County Schools schedule. Closures & early releases result in cancelled  meetings.

Spin Clubs

Spin Clubs are special interest clubs which occur periodically throughout the year. Spin Clubs involve shorter sessions than traditional year-round 4-H clubs. These programs are used to increase youth knowledge about a specific topic/project.

Current Spin Clubs

  • 4-H Poultry Club (runs March-September) – Ages 5-18
    •  Youth attend educational sessions to learn all about poultry! Youth interested in learning to show poultry, can also attend a showmanship clinic. Only birds from Graham County 4-H Poultry Project can be shown at Graham County 4-H Poultry Show.
    • 2025 Graham County 4-H Poultry Project- Youth must register for the project separately from 4-H Poultry Club via Google Form. Participants who wish to complete a poultry project are provided a chick starter kit and six hens. One hen is required to be returned for county processing demonstration. Processed birds are sent back home with participants. Participants are required to attend mandatory events, for more information, see rules/expectations.
